Default 2001 Ez Go with a High Speed Controller

Hi,

I bought a 2001 Ez Go with a High Speed Controller and high speed rear end. The batteries are 1 year old. I am only getting 1 hours of use with it. Is this normal? I really want more.

Thanks, Sabor

Give some more info.
What controller?
What size tires?
36v series?
What gears?
How fast are you going?
Pack voltage 10-12 hrs after a charge and while putting your foot into uphill.
Which brand of batteries? Have they been maintained?

There are a couple of hills around I go up:
It is a 36 volt.
tires - 205-50/10s
batteries = Trojans t-105
Don't know anything about the controller. I have attached a picture.

My questions were just all about getting an idea of how much you are drawing off of the batteries. That and the condition of your pack. If your cart does 20+ and you’re driving around full pedal for an hour, you may not be doing too bad.

That controller is the stock "HD upgrade - 400 amp". Tt's not a "high speed" controller, and no such thing as a "high speed" controller exists for series type systems like yours. So, back to early question, how fast does it go? And look at the motor tag to tell us what motor is in there.

CG, if that’s the 400 amp controller, I wonder if he has the freedom model that had the faster motor in it too. My cart originally had that setup and would get up 21-23, but mine actually had a factory replacement for the upgraded motor. (Rabbitreborn recognized the sticker on my motor) Kernal has it in his factory 4 seater.

Thanks guys for helping. Yes it is a Freedom and will go 20mph. Where is the motor tag at? So I guess my question is if I want the batteries to last longer what should I do, replace the controller?

If mine is a series cart, I have a friend who has a stock motor that came off of his old one. We could swap it and see if it makes a difference. Could this be a possibility. It would be a stock Series motor off of a 36v 1999 TXT cart.

Thanks

That's the axle tag. The motor tag is on the motor. I'm betting itll say "Advanced DC".

This thing seems to be shaping up to be a perfectly normal "freedom" txt. And it might be operating perfectly normal.

Check tire pressures, and drive more conservative.
