Possbile alternative series wiring?
Pickup up a 36v 99 txt w/ "unknown problems...might be the batteries". It has a new 3 blade 1206-4301 controller and cables. Batteries are completely crap, which i'm picking up tomorrow.
I'm going over the wiring and everything is correct except one of the wires on the B+ blade of the controller. Its not running to a resistor and then to the + battery pickup. Its going to the solenoid, same side as the small red wire going back to the controller, then out the opposite side of the solenoid to the + battery pickup. Is this an acceptable alternative wiring, or did the genius screw this up? Attached the diagram i'm going off of w/ the questionable run in green. Thanks! Blake |

Re: Possbile alternative series wiring?
No. Just no. Follow that diagram. You're mixing high current cables with low current wires.
I attached one WITH the A2 controller blade. |

Re: Possbile alternative series wiring?
Well, I'm not mixing them...previous owner did. ;) The second diagram you posted was what I first printed out and was expecting. But this controller didn't have the A2 blade on it or a run/tow switch. He only had about 25 working volts, so hopefully he didn't smoke anything. New solenoid also.
So what is actually supposed to go on the two large posts on the solenoid? The controller wires and diode are on the smaller posts currently. Does this 250 ohm / 5w resistor physically go in a break between the B+ and + battery hookup? Thanks for the input! Blake |

I'm sending you a diagram for an AXE controller, which I think is easier to read. The controller pin numbers for the wires (not cables) are different. Maybe between the two you can figure it out. There are two different circuits in a series. The low current wires - sometimes referred to as the control circuit or the solenoid activation circuit, and the high current cables circuit. |
