Can I play Golf cart stereo if it’s plugged into a charger?

I have an easy go with a pretty Bitchin sound system. So nice that when I’m in my garage I like playing music from it. This might sound stupid but I feel like it won’t affect any issues but can I play the golf cart stereo if I have the golf cart plugged in to the charger.? Will that damage the batteries or run them down? In my mind it seems like that would be perfectly fine it wouldn’t hurt the batteries because it’s sitting on the charger and it’s just transferring the energy rather than draining from the battery but maybe I’m wrong. Can someone answer my question?

It should be fine. Is your stereo on a reducer?

yes right now a whole system reduced but i plan to move over to a 5th 12vdeep cycle separate battery with its own charger so it stops hurting my drive time, As long as the battery is on the charger I can play the radio in theory without hurting the battery right?

Sure. It won’t hurt the battery to do both.

Unless you have a charger that float charges, the charger most likely isn't charging when you are playing the sound system since it only charges for a few hours after being plugged into cart.

Net result is discharging the battery pack, so it would be a good idea to unplug charger from cart and then plug it back in to replace the energy the sound system used.

As for playing the sound system on on a separate 12V battery while charging, you might hear some noise. Very few chargers put out straight line DC, but if the sound system is designed for mobile applications, it ought to have some noise filters on the input power.

This is the charger I just bought so i can keep it plugged in to the separate deep cycle battery to play music, the sound system requires about 24.4 amps to run, the deep cycle is a cheap 60$ everstart batt from walmart and it’s all Dc marine audio components you’d find in a boat, can you check this link and verify it carries the float function? So with float i’d be ok listen in the garage with this unit plugged in?
