While you could use a deep cycle cart battery in a car....(over kill)
the opposite is not true ...

Hope this helps

So stick with the FLA batteries? I am now into my 6th gallon of water and hoping the batteries will make it to February 2022 which would make them 1 year old at that time. I do use the golf cart almost everyday. I do check and level the water in the batteries every 2 weeks just to make sure they are well maintained.

FLA or Lithium. No way should you be having to replace batteries one year from new! IMO, AGM batteries are not good for golf cart use. Most chargers overcharge them and kill them quickly.

No exactly correct...Agms particularly Crown1 are designed for golf carts,
they list the Crown 1 in the motive golf cart section

https://www.crownbattery.com/hubfs/D...Deep-Cycle.pdf

In my case it was a badly designed profile by Lester Summit II ..

In reality though there are a number of members here who are using agms
and so far no issues...nowhere near the issues of lithium as of now..

Agm are unsung heroes...

Cannot but recommend my Crown1s

Best wishes

There is the problem! Most chargers will cook AGM's. That is why I don't recommend them.

Agm batteries are the unsung heroes...

My agms are 2 years old and were transfered from my previous cart to my
2020 ICON I40 and now have driven over 6500 miles...

However when you think about the cost of lithium batteries along with
the specialized unique for each brand or model even of lithium chargers
as well as battery management systems...
And still inspite of all the "specialized" systems needed for lithiums
they are not yet fully reliable....as so often plays out here in the forum

Agms on the other hand are very very reliable...plug n play...only
the charger element that with an Eagle Pro charger i4818 they are
good to go...for the long haul

Folks need to look and consider this alternative!!

Best wishes,
Happy cartin'

If you use that much water, your charger is really overcharging and gassing your batteries all the time. When I was using FLA batteries, they started out life using very little water - once a month with daily use. As they aged, they used more - eventually needing some water once a week. I switched to Lithium when my FLA batteries hit four years and were starting to degrade. Now I don't use any water. :-)

Is your cart lifted and do you go on trails with the AGMs?

No my cart is not lifted....varying paved roads. Many stop signs, lots of
stop and go along with some hills mixed in.

My cart never displays sluggish response toward the end of a 25 -30
mile day....still full of it's spunk wanting to go for more....

I charge it at the end of the day...and leave it on the charger
till next time around.

Hope this helps some

Happy cartin'
