kwest0425, thank you for this post, after weeks of trying to figure out what was wrong with my cart I decided to try this and now my cart if finally running again.

timing ?
how is timing set ?

my cart is pinging way before TDC BOTH WAYS
fairly hard too as it can stop the motor for a sec

I do not understand how the heck it does that !!!!!!!!!!!!
as if off one way BTDC it should be ATDC the other direction

I think the CDI is stock ?
is it adjustable for timing or is the timing set somewhere else ?

2 stroke and 4 stroke engines want drastically different timing curves...

Do you have too run the diodes ? Or can you just wire them straight together and do u think you could do the same thing with a cdi out of a older Kawasaki bayou 220

Has anyone purchased a CDI and wiring harness lately? I have to do this build to replace my CDI. The CDI is fairly easy to find, but the wiring harness is proving difficult. Has anyone bought one from an online vendor recently?

Thanks,

Pretty sure that's the harness. You might find it here with free shipping.

Any updated info on which parts to get and where for a G1 or are the Amazon links above it?

This Fantastic, I put on a G9 and it works great and it even runs faster than before.
Thanks for your awesome design.
