Electric golf cart batteries
#1 question out there and I'm ready for the storm of responses.
What batteries to replace with? Currently I have 07' Trojan 860's in my Club Car 48v. I have read into the transfer of ownership on battery manufactures and know that Trojan aren't what they used to be,, but I have a dealer friend and can pick up some new 890's for $100 each which is a great deal. I also like U.S. batteries, but anything besides Trojan, eveready and optima will come with a retail price. So are mexican Trojan 890's for $100 still a good deal. Thoughts? |

Re: Electric golf cart batteries
If it's of any significance, the Johnson Controls batteries used by Club Car today in every Precedent they build are made in Mexico and they've been pretty solid units.

Re: Electric golf cart batteries
Never did in the Precedents. They used Crown for quite a while. Now it's strictly Johnson Controls in the Precedents. The US were used in LSV, DS, and Carryall applications. The new Carryalls we just prepped for a course last week had Trojans in them.

Re: Electric golf cart batteries
Appreciate the input, we close on the house today and I can't wait to get my hands on this DS and start going through it.
As a new member, it's nice to get confirmation on these things as well as new ideas. Thanks |
