Default Powerwise QE 48v Charger

After riding my cart about 2 miles this evening I plugged it in to charge and noticed it was still charging about 2 hours later. I turned on the digital battery meter and it was showing 65.0 volts so I unplugged it. It usually cuts off around 60 volts. Is it normal for these chargers to go that high or is there something wrong with the charger? Also could it have damaged my batteries if it is not supposed to go that high?

there is nothing wrong, a 48v cart can get to 67 volts before it turns off, just make sure the water is a 1/4 inch above the plates, but it's not good to unplug the charger untill it finishes the charge cycle

Any idea why it usually cuts off at 60 volts but went so much higher this time?

Excessive resistance in the battery sensing circuit will cause it.
Clean the Auxiliary contact in the charger's plug and the outside of the negative radsok in the cart's charge receptacle.
