Default 1998 EZGO TXT DCS 36v?

Looking at a 1998 TXT DCS 36v. The seller says that he had the cart looked at and it needs a new "control box". I'm assuming that he means a new controller. It has four Trojan T-605 dated F13 and two Napa batteries, undated. From what I've read, my guess is that the other four batteries that the Trojans replaced were old and created a low voltage situation, blowing the DCS controller. The seller is asking $800 for this cart. Is it worth that? If not, what is it worth?

Those batteries do not like they are a year old but... I would take a volt meter to each one and check voltages.. Load test if you can.. As for $800.. Here that is too much change.. Maybe in Upstate NY but not here..

If you do decide to go this route there were some used Alltrax controllers in the FS section.. I bought one ..

I paid $800 for my 96 DCS with out a charger but had a rear seat and was lifted. The batteries were all the same but old and through lack of knowledge I blow the controller because of weak batteries.

When I bought the cart was told the batteries were good, he lied but knowing what I know now and the market here in Washington State I still feel I got a good deal. If you know you need to replace the batteries and it looks like it does and the controller and you can't find a running cart for less then what you will have in total then yes its a good deal.

The good news is it looks like you know more going into this purchase than I did with mine. If it were me I would offer $600 and tell him you are going to have to purchase a controller and batteries, even if they are only a year old they are not in good shape.
