Precedent transaxles

Switching motors recently on my 2005 precendent has made me aware that in 2008 there is more room between the spring and the motor, presumably from a change in transaxles.

Can someone offer more details on this?

Around 08 they changed the offset of the center to be about an inch and a half further to the left (drivers side) to provide more room for the longer motor design they started using.
All of the transaxles after 08 used the same design as far as I know.

Are they still graziano? What are the part numbers for both? I see 102771701 is mentioned a lot but I'm not sure if that is pre2008 or not.

Yes, they are made by Graziano.

08 and later: 102771701

02ish - 08 DS: 101896001
00 and earlier could have a Kawasaki Transaxle or a Graziano, just depends what they felt like putting in it from what I can tell. After that they are all Graziano.

The newer axles measure about 19.5" from the brake backing flange to the axle tube flange on the right hand (motor) side. The older axles will be closer to 17" on the right hand side.
