? On upgrade on my 36v ezgo
Hey guys need some help. I've got a 2007 ezgo PDS 36v with 6" lift and 22" tires. I've got no torque now or battery life. I've tested batteries and their good they are Trojan 2009. Was wanting to know if anybody has upgraded to a 500 alltrax and 7 hp motor. And want kind of performance and battery life they get. I think it's working so hard to push the big tires it's killing the batteries like pulling a big trailer behind your truck sucks the gas but I could be wrong. I've tried all those chips which personally I thought was a joke. But any help would be great thanks.

Re: ? On upgrade on my 36v ezgo
Also if I wanted to go 48v where do u put the 2 batteries. I know one will fit under the driver side but the other side has the controller in the way. And I've heard the 36v and 48v is a myth or is it a lot better? And in which ways? Thanks

You can either swap them all out for new ones , and just put in 6 -8v, or add the other two in the bag well. If you go to 48v you will see a jump in power and runtime, along with speed.

Re: ? On upgrade on my 36v ezgo
You are exactly right about the increased loads on your drive system from the bigger tires. The stock controller can't cut it. 400 amps will make a significant improvement in your carts performance with a few cables upsized. 500a is reserved for only the aftermarket motors like PQ Assassin The jump up to 48v is a real seat of the pants improvement. Generally a 25-30% increase in speed and torque. Lots of guys put extra batteries in the bagwell or go to 6/8v batteries.

Re: ? On upgrade on my 36v ezgo
With the 500 controller and 36 volt what kind of run time should I expect( miles or time). All I do is drive around the farm which has 3 or 4 big hills but I'm not baja racing either. Thanks

500 amps is not recommended for a stock motor. The size and health of the batteries and the weight of your foot has everything to do with how long the pack lasts.
