The alltrax is programmable. You need to install controller pro on a laptop and use a USB serial adapter. You can find information HERE. You can adjust the throttle curve.

The swap will work only when the throttle inputs are the same between the donor and recipient carts or the controller in question has selectable throttle inputs, one of which matches the recipient cart.

Ok. So, is it ok to add a 12 volt golf cart battery to my current 6 6 volt system?
Will a normal 48v charger charge the system if I add a 12v battery?

It is never advisable to mix voltages in a battery pack. The needs of a 12v battery and a 6v battery vary greatly in terms of recharging. And during operation the lower amp capacity of the higher voltage battery would result in excessive discharge to the damage level of the higher lower capacity battery.
Not a good idea.

So, you are saying that it will damage the batteries? Or, the electrical components in the golf cart. I plan to go to a 48v system whenever the batteries in my cart go bad anyway. However, the batteries are only 2 years old and I would assume last a couple of more years, and I would like to go ahead and make my cart a 48v cart. It wouldn't make since for me to buy new batteries now if I could add to what I have. Unless you feel doing this will damage the electrical components in my cart.

If you are asking if you can put 48v to your 36v cart without changing the stock control and solenoid the answer is no. It will damage the 36v components and charging a 12v battery with a 36v golf cart charger could lead to personal injury.
I wont be posting here anymore as I see we have a new thread on this topic which is best
