01 PDS won't go slow - surges
The 01 EZGO PDS we got with our lake house 6 weeks ago started surging. Slow speed control was not great before but now it is ful speed or nothing. The diagnostic fault code is either 1-4 or 1-2 (mostly 1-4). I followed the troubleshooting guide I found (pg F-7 of the Technician & Service manual). The voltage check indicates the ITS is bad. Where the voltage was supposed to be 1V+/- 0.3V it was ~2.5V and incresed to ~3+V as the pedal was depressed. The wheel speed (cart on jack stands) seemed constant from micro switch activation to ~1/2 throttle. Wheel speed slowed to a stop once the pedal was depressed over ~1/2 way (judging by the core position in the ITS coil).
If it were a $10 item I would already have ordered one. However, since it is >$100 I'm looking for a little confirmation. I removed the part and measured the resistance at ~2.6MOhms. I would normally expect an inductor to have relatively low resistance. Give my incomplete description can anyone give me more confidence we have a bat ITS? Thanks PS This is a great forum! |
