Re: G2/G9 Twins I've Inherited - Non-running
My new wires made by Brad down at O'Reillys.
There was a brown wire that is compromised coming from the main switch. I put a spade end on the ignition side and bypassed the plug for right now. I'll have to deal with this as well. That list is getting longer. Then, of course, it rained again. Wettest June on record. Had to cover up the cart and put up the tools, again. What happens when you accidently leave your color copy outside when it starts raining. Colors run. |

Re: G2/G9 Twins I've Inherited - Non-running
Forgot to put up my cardboard, so it got wet.
Choke cable looks like it had a hard life. The reason I can't get traction on the golf cart... cutting cedars to clear land for a storage building. Found a little buddy under the morning glory leaves on the stair railing. |

We made our own tensioner. Made the first one too short but the second one we made fit perfect, made a couple for future builds.

Re: G2/G9 Twins I've Inherited - Non-running
It's coming along nicely I see, oh and by the way thank you.. also not sure if sho305 or one of the other guys told you about a bypass line for the fuel, the fuel pump is to much for the carb to handle so you need to put a bypass line in going back to the tank, you will need a T of some sort so next run you make try an remember to get one at the hardware store.. here is a picture of mine, I lucked out I had some old windshield washer hoses with a T on it left over from a hood replacement I did on my car after I hit a deer..

Re: G2/G9 Twins I've Inherited - Non-running
On my to do list:
1. create a bracket for the throttle 2. install the throttle 3. install the muffler & pipes 4. engine tensioner 5. plate for battery to sit on 6. kill switch on the dash 7. buy the choke adapter for Honda engines 8. tee in the fuel line 9. new main switch without a butchered brown wire connector 10. see if I can rehab the choke line or if I need to get another 11. check the brakes 12. replace the shocks 13. reinstall the winch 14. needs a roof or some type of shade Sure wish my engine compartment was that clean. Once I get the downstairs house walls finished, then we can do the garage. At that time, I should have both carts running so having one down for cleanup will be all good. |

Re: G2/G9 Twins I've Inherited - Non-running
clevis pin (30 minutes searching google for that term..lol).
I thought I put the throttle clevis pin in the empty peanut butter jar I'm using for my parts keeper. The little cotter pin is there. The clevis pin is not there. Is there a substitute for that little pin that is less than $6 and then with a shipping fee on top of that? All my things around here fit cars and tractors so they are overly large. Where might I find something that would hold my throttle cable in place? Can I use a bolt and nut? Yep - raining again. Had to put everything up and cover with plastic. |

yes, you can use a nut and bolt, I would double nut it or find a small nylon nut so you can leave it a little loose so it doesn't bind on you, also you do have another cart, steal it from that one for the time being, maybe your other one will show up..
