RXV won’t move
Hi,
I’ll search as well but figured I’d throw this out first if the symptoms are well known. 2013 RXV in great shape but now when I turn the key to forward or reverse, it lurches forward and does nothing else other than engage the reverse buzzer (same key forward or reverse). When I flick the tow switch, the cart rolls freely. New batteries earlier this year and voltages test fine. Everything was working fine yesterday but during a ride I had to emergency stop on a path to avoid a dog. The cart stopped, stuttered to continue and carried on back home with no immediately detectable issues other than an electronics smell. Now does not run this evening. Brake? Solenoid? Motor? Next item to troubleshoot? Is this the definitive text? https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/atta...4&d=1397903747 Thanks all! |

Re: RXV won’t move
You need the Curtis troubleshooting guide. Do the brake test to see if it's good.

Re: RXV won’t move
Sounds like it's failing the startup brake test. The parking/E brake can be damaged from just one emergency stop.

Re: RXV won’t move
With the switch in “tow” and the key to “F”, I cannot roll the cart.

Re: RXV won’t move
Kenny check the battery connections and wires closely, loose nuts, bad terminals, and bad wires can cause the smell. The battery wires can be bad under the sheathing if any corrosion is present.
Try the bypass under the tow switch cover and see if it rolls. Ohm test the plug to the brake, should read 25 to 28 if good. Try pulling back on the pedals when you turn the key on, they can get dirt build up or weak springs and it won't pass the start up test if not all the way back. These RXV motors rarely go bad. If you're going to throw parts at it without testing all you can with a digital volt meter following the PDF guide the solenoid and brake are where I'd start. Buy OEM parts from EZGO and cry once. The aftermarket parts sometimes don't last or work at all. Now I need to go figure out why mine started cutting out last night. Good luck. |

Check the ohms on the brake.
