Default Club Car with Power Drive Plus

Have a 96 Club Car with a GE controller. Body indicates it has a power drive plus system (48 Volt) Will not tun. Went through all the relays and with relays closing I can get the motor to hum, but not turn. When I check for voltage at the A-1 and A-2 I get nothing. Field is only showing 7 volts when I depress the accelerator and motor hums, Motor turns freely. Any ideas.

the black controller is what one would call junk but before we go there........how old are the batteries? have they been tested/load tested.......what kind of shape are cables in.........are battery terminals and cable ends real clean and tight? always start with the basics.......will the charger come on, if so fully charge the batteries than let it sit 15 minutes and take a voltage reading from each battery and as a pack.........post the voltage #,s and we can go from there.................

Tom: All batteries have been checked and all cables were cleaned and are in like new shape. Before I took the body off I did connect the charger and left it on for about 6 hours before it cycled off. I am pretty well convinced that the controller is bad. I have not figured out a way to check the motor. I have spent the last 5 years repairing electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters. They all use permanent magnet motors, so checking those motors is fairly simple. I have a source who is offering me a package of a curtis controller with all necessary wiring plus a motor for $375.00. That is probably what I will go with if I cannot get this system to operate. Appreciate all your input and any furthur advice you can give...Thanks

Tom: Will let you know if more are available. Source is in Ga. I will be going there to pick it up early next week. May be able to go Friday, but most likely next week. Will keep you posted.
