Starter/generator wiring
Just another question about Starter/Gen. wiring , can it be wired for a key start? and if so , is there a diagram out there ? I think the Starter/Gen. will be a little more heavy duty than the clone starter.

Re: Starter/generator wiring
I'm sure there's a way to do it, but I've never seen it done. The pedal switch kind of acts like a key switch to get it started. Once the engine is running the starter automatically turns to generator, so it's really the same either way. I bench tested my starter/gen and it worked fine, so you just have to put power and ground to it and it fires right up. You'll have to experiment a bit, but I'm sure it can be done. I have considered doing the same thing but with a starter button. Same idea just no key. Be sure to post pics!

Re: Starter/generator wiring
My GCOR quit working so I'm putting in a heavy duty truck starter button now using a heavier gauge wire than the stock wiring to handle the load coming from the + and - from the solenoid.I'm also putting in an analog voltmeter while the dash is out.Does anyone think I'll have a problem with this?
