Default Yamaha G16A clutch

1998 Yamaha G16A petrol buggy with a clapped out primary clutch. I've removed the centre bolt but can't get the assembly off the crankshaft? Yamaha extractor bolt seems very expensive option for what's hopefully, a one off job and I understand that the use of a spacer bar and standard bolt can do the same job?
Can anyone tell me what size, and thread pattern of bolt I need to do that?

Do not play and buy such an extractor, no choice... by the way, not very expensive and you will use it several times in the next 2, 3 or 4 years!

I just went through this. I called a mechanic friend of mine to see if he had a clutch puller bolt and he said just take a hammer and tap it a few times and see if it falls off. it did.

This is a very very bad plan.

Clutches were designed to be removed with a puller tool. Using a hammer can bend, crack, or break the clutch. A hairline crack that isn't visible to the naked eye can actually kill you if it comes apart at 4000 rpm. Shrapnel from broken clutches have been known to scatter under your behind and break through the plastic cart body and do major damage to your legs and arse. It is possible a large chunk could make it to your head and kill you dead in your tracks.

Buy the $30 puller.

Thanks for the advice - removal bolt now purchased and the old unit easily removed. New one fitted and we're back up and running!
