Question Need G2 output shaft for rear end

My threaded end busted off. Sadness.

Anyone know where to find one?

Thanks!

Mig it?

Or call plowmans and order the part. He should be able to get it for you if it’s still available.

Thanks for the reply, really like your site. I have a buddy that has a welding shop and I'm going to take the part to him tomorrow to see if he can weld a stud on the end without getting in the way of the keyway. But Plowmans is the next stop!

I tried welding it with my flux welder (cheapo) but it snapped with a few wrench twists. I'm only good at welding Christmas decorations I guess...

Pulled the rear end out tonight (that was a learning experience).

Here are some pictures of my fine welding attempt.

Really like the forum and want to keep this old Yamaha running in the wild. It is a 87 so almost as old as I'm.. :)

You are this deep into it and to only have to do it once I would recommend prying that wallet open and just replacing the shaft.
I am also a person who will fix more things than buy new but some problems are better in the long run just to replace, the taper doesn't look all that great either.
Call Don..... and get back to enjoying that cart!!!

Very good point. Don't know what that messed up taper would do in the long run. Probably bad vibrations and such. Might just bite the bullet.

Don will hook you up. And he can set you up with a clutch that actually WORKS instead of continuing to try and work the cobbled together Amazon mess

Thanks! Will let you know what happens next.

These old carts are unique and the bones of mine seem solid, would like to get it on the road again. Might even try golfing, I hear you can used this as golf carts also...

I’ve heard something about golf carts at a golf course. Even tried it once, but got drunk enough I don’t really remember much after I got there… though some would argue that’s the point
