91 Club Car: Engine?
I am working on a family members 91 Club Car (4 Stroke Gas). It was brought to me with the owner saying, "it is frozen solid." I took it apart and found that the rod bearing (bearing connecting the rod to the) is frozen.
I am a newbie to the site... Sorry for my dumb questions in advance! If threads all ready exist please link for me. I was hoping i wouldn't have to tear apart the bottom end to replace it, but it looks like that is the only way to get to the rod bolts, correct? What engine are in these 91 Club Cars? I can't find any signifying marks; other than the Japanese writing on the rod. Where can I get parts for this engine? Should we scrap this motor, and move on to a different one? Everything else on the inside of this motor looks great for being 20 years old. And for the last five years it has been beat on hard! Thanks for any help! BUBBA |

Re: 91 Club Car: Engine?
where is the carb mounted on that in the center or off to the left?? it should have the 341 side valve in it and if so parts may be tricky but if you can find them stay with that engine its much better than what they started using in 1992.......you should be able to find a complete rebuild kit for it and the kit comes with everything you need including piston and rings.......so if you have a few hundred to spare thats the way to go.............if you do decide to swap or change engines let me know i,ll take that one off your hands..................................

Re: 91 Club Car: Engine?
Is there a bearing between the rod and crank?
Or is it just floating like the piston? |

Re: 91 Club Car: Engine?
The FE engines have a VERY visible "OHV" on the valve cover.
The KF82/FZ340 (341) engine is a flathead with the spark plug sticking straight up, Here's a thread scotty did a while back: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...d-rebuild.html The clutch is pressure fit and in most cases, requires a special tool to remove it from the engine crank shaft. Here's recent thread about that, if you haven't seen it already: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...ff-1999-a.html I'm a little late... but I hope some of this helps! |
