Default 1988 kf82 connecting rod

Just bought a 1988 club car that I'm in the process of a major engine rebuild(new crank,rod,piston-overbore,rings bearings, gaskets.) I have the club car manual, but my confusion is about the aftermarket connecting rod! the stock rod is oriented with the writing on the rod facing the flywheel-as per the manual, and I verified such on teardown, but the aftermarket rod is stamped indicating it should face toward the clutch or power take off side of the crankshaft! I have some time to work with as the cylinder is at the machine shop, but of course, the aftermarket parts come with 0 directions!!

The rod came with no instructions! there are the words "output shaft" on one side of the rod, the other side is blank. the origional rod has japanese letters on the side that is to face the flywheel. I have the club car manual to get the assembly answers I need other than this connecting rod question, I was hoping others ran into this problem!

i just replaced the rod in my kf82 and did not know which way to put it in. i put it in with the cap mark facing the same way it came out. however checking it with a straight edge i could tell no difference for either side so i think it is exactly straight and it wont matter either way you put it in. what will matter or it did for me was when i bolted the gears on with machine screws the crank hit the head or nut im not sure just check for clearence before you button it all up

I put the bottom end back together with the connecting rod orientation with the words "output shaft" facing the clutch, I'm still waiting for the bore and valve job to be done at the machine shop but it gives me a chance to change fuel lines and filters, check the tranny fluid levels, paint the exhaust pipe with eastwood paint.... can't wait to hear this baby run!!!
