The ket switch is like 2 switches in one. One side has hot wire coming in and switches this hot wire off and on. The other side is a ground switch. It switches a ground wire off and on. The blue wire on your solenoid should have 12volts when the switch is on. The orange wire grounds the solenoid to make it have a complete circuit though the 2 micro switches. If you ground the orange wire post with a jumper, it should make the starter turn.

found out the starter/generator was somewhat seized OR that the brushes were just bad. tapping the housing with a hammer let it start to crank over. pulled it off and changed the brushes, now it tries a little harder but i wasnt able to grind the copper or whatever from the rotating assembly to make it all flat, so i might have to wear the new brushes into the existing groove.
still have to empty the gas tank and put fresh gas in to see if itll actually run. thanks for all the help guys. im actually about to post another thread about a 2007 48V im working on. some of these give me a headache, lol |
