turn signals
Good mornining gentelmen
I am wanting to turn my factory yamaha g16a front running lights into turn signals. So I dont have to add any other lights to the cart. the factory 2.5 inch lights however. Only have a hot and a ground no third wire to be able to power a double element bulb. I know i have seen semis that have clearance lights that double as turn signals. Can someone tell me how to wire these from my seven wire turn signal lever to make the marker light stay on when the lights are on but flash when turn signal is activated? Or tell me where to find a 2.5 inch round amber light with a dual element socket? Thank you Daryl |

Re: turn signals
It would be easy to blink them off with a relay from the turn signal, but if you use that for brake lighting it would keep them off when you had the brakes on. You might run the relay off the pilot lights of the switch, I'm not sure because there are a bunch of different switches and blinkers. The pilots are for dash lights so you know the signal is blinking, they don't stay on with the brakes. The relays and plugs are like $3 each on amazon or parts express I think has them, so that is $12 or whatever.

Re: turn signals
I did this same thing to my motorcycle's driving lights mounted on my mirrors. They are 2 wire so I run the ground wire through a 12v relay and use the turn signal to activate the relay thus turning the lights off and on.
