Need help on buying a newer cart
Looking at buying a 2008 yamaha golf cart for 2,800 or a 2007 ezgo. It is all stock and gas powered. I only have had ezgo's before never a yamaha. What are the big difference between the two. I read the yamaha has a bigger motor then ezgo. Thanks

Re: Need help on buying a newer cart
the yamaha engine is bullet proof as long as you keep the oil and air filter clean..the overall appearance of the yamaha look better IMHO when you install headlights, lift and nice wheels and tires

Re: Need help on buying a newer cart
I don't think you can go wrong with either, I've had both. I had ezgo gas first for a few years, sold it to my neighbor when my wife wanted an electric cart. 2 years later I sold electric because my kids kept forgetting to plug it up and would be dead when I wanted to use it. Now have a 09 Yamaha, bought it cause liked the body style, dealer sold both brands. Haven't had any trouble out of either and neighbors kids still driving ezgo hard without any trouble.

Re: Need help on buying a newer cart
It's kind of like the old Chevy vs. Ford debate. There are a hundred different people on either side who will tell you a hundred reasons why their side is better. Either brand cart will give you good service if you take care of it. And there are aftermarket mod kits available for both. So in the end, it'll come down to personal choice.

Re: Need help on buying a newer cart
Just pick the one that has the looks you want as long as they're both in similar mechanical condition you'll be happy. That's how I decided on a G9, just liked the looks of it and waited until I found one.
Of course, now I'm gonna tell you "Yamaha's are the best!" |
