Sometimes you need to unbolt the driver side leaf spring from the frame and jack it up to get enough clearance to get the bolt past the front spring hanger. Only use a dry lubricant spray on the weights and rollers, any wet lube will trap dirt and cause it to bind.

I can't help much on the clutch but Liquid Wrench has a dry lube that's supposed to be pretty good. Good luck on finding a solution to your problem.
