Straight off the coarse
2012 precedent straight off the coarse. Batteries are 2012 don't seem to charge fully up to 50 volts. I have heard these carts can be programmed at a dealer for more speed. Is that correct ? Cart just for kicking around with the family. What would you do if it was yours. Wanting about 20 mph. Will be lifted not sure what kit. Liking the rear seat that retains the original uprights and basket. Thanks

Re: Straight off the coarse
You can count on needing new batteries then.

2ndly place your cart on the charger for at least 16 hours and then don't touch it for another 8 hours. Report your standing or rested static voltage. If it is indeed less than 50.0 volts then your 2012 batteries are tired and need to be replaced fairly soon, as 50 volts is less than 80 % of a full charge. To which you should never takes these batteries below 48.4 volts... Do you know what speed your cart is currently able to get to? Roughly 15 is speed code 3 and 20 is the limit for speed code 4 MPH... |

Re: Straight off the coarse
Charged last night for 10 hours. Charger was off this morning. Took a short ride reading 48.9 volts. Local battery depot has us batteries. Have access to interstate as well. Any suggestions? I want to do it right.

I'd buy US Bat over Interstate bats but I'd buy Trojan or Crown over US Bat if I could. US Bat makes good batteries but they also make claims about their batteries that is not backed up by testing and their recommended charging method is hard to match up without buying a DPI charger. As to speed with a PH you can go with speed code 4 and get 20 MPH but if your going to want more than 20 later going with SC4 is going to be a waste of money in my opinion. For 225.00 plus shipping you can get your motor upgraded to a Plum Quick Bandit and see speeds in the low to mid 20's |

Re: Straight off the coarse
Make sure that they are GOLF CART battery not Marine Deep Cycle battery and buy as much capacity (amp hour) as you can afford. You will generally only have 1 or 2 choices amounts any one brand. Capacity will not make faster but it will give more range (miles) which is all LOAD and speed dependent...
