Default Cutting Power

In preparation for my diamond plate rocker panels, I started taking off the existing ones on my '12 TXT. When I went to take off the second set, I felt small shock so I looked under the cart and saw wires out of the conduit. Is there anyway to cut off the power from the batteries? I thought tow mode did this, but I had that on.
