Default HD 400 amp Solenoid

After buying the B2 motor and xct 500 amp controller from scotty and gong from 36 volts to 48 I am very pleased the motor and controller is awesome with tons of torque and speed. But I have noticed that when I am done riding the solenoid is really HOT and you cant even touch it. Was wondering if this was normal or not. Thanks

Did you buy a HD or SD solenoid? Is it rated for 400 amps? I see in the "title" you say it's a HD 400 amp solenoid, Is it rated for 48 volts? Do you or any friends have a laser IR temp gun?

its an HD and the cart runs really good but solenoid gets really hot after short drives. I will check and see if I can find the thermal image temp probe
.

Where mine is mounted, I can't readily touch it. Is it a 48 volt model?

If there are no other issues, just a smoking hot solenoid then there may be a solenoid contact problem.
Simply return the solenoid with a note and your return address.
