Re: EZ-Go WONT move
Scotty,
That is the thing, the two small posts are 37V when pressing the throttle. They are at 0 when not pressing the throttle. All of that tells me that the controller and the pedal box switch is good, is that assumption wrong? |

Re: EZ-Go WONT move
If the small posts have 37v BETWEEN them the solenoid should click.
If the solenoid clicks it should pass high amperage voltage from one big post to the other. (you can't test this with a precharge resistor in place, remove one end). At this point either the solenoid or the controller may be bad |

Re: EZ-Go WONT move
The voltage on the small posts when pressing the accelerator is 37. The solenoid is passing the voltage between the large posts, and clicking very loudly. Keep in mind I just installed a new solendoid because I was testing with the resistor between posts, so I thought that was the issue. I now have two good solenoids. I am getting voltage to the F/R switch from the B- of the controller.
Is there any tests that I can do to confirm it is the controller? Do controllers just stop working? Is there anyway I can test the motor to in the cart to ensure my motor isn't bad? Sorry for all the questions, this is my first cart and anxious to get it working. |

Re: EZ-Go WONT move
Controller test:
put voltmeter leads on B- and M-. When the solenoid clicks meter should read full 37v As the pedal is depressed that reading should go near 0v |

Re: EZ-Go WONT move
ScottyB,
The B- & M- read .3V before solenoid engages, after engaging the DVM reads 0.0 all the way down to full acceleration. |

Re: EZ-Go WONT move
Scotty,
Because I didn't get a reading of 37V when the solenoid clicked, does that mean my controller is bad? |

Re: EZ-Go WONT move
Of course we can't know everything that you see & do there but, it sounds like the controller never got power. Check the main B+ and B- cables.
When the solenoid clicks you should have power between controller B+ and B- and between B- and M- |

Re: EZ-Go WONT move
When the solenoid clicks, I get 37.3V on B+ B-, and states there while depressed and slowly goes down after releasing the pedal.
B- M- gives me .3V before engaging solenoid and 0.0 at engaging and never changes. I greatly appreciate your patience as you help troubleshoot this thing. |
