Installing Converter
Hi guys. I didn't want to pollute the other ongoing thread so I started this one.
I got a converter/reducer that has the following cables: I will connect to battery red and black. And red/white to trigger on switch. I will connect to fuse block +12V yellow. The question is: -12V negative to buss bar..... this means NO wire from buss bar to negative pack. Correct? The converter 48V thin black will do this function and close the loop? |

Re: Installing Converter
I'm sure someone can give a much better answer. I just wonder what if anything you would get if you hooked it up without the 12v negative to the pack, and then take a DVM and probe the negative bus bar, and the 36v positive. I'm thinking the two grounds are bridged inside the reducer.

Re: Installing Converter
The instructions seem pretty clear; no connection from -12v to -36v.

I think is the same concept as yours. But with an extra trigger cable.. Yours have 4 cables. Two inputs and 2 outputs. Same on this. The inputs from battery pack The outputs to fuse block - accessories and to negative buss bar |

Meaning the grounds are bridged. You should also have a 12v reading, by probing the +12v on fuse block and the -36 ground at battery pack. |

Re: Installing Converter
I'm installing a fuse block from reducer to accesories.
Reading the info it suggests installing a 125Amp fuse... should I put one? It's coming from my reducer. I assume I don't need it. What you guys say? |

Re: Installing Converter
It's 125a Max since you have a 30a converter, if you put a fuse on it, doesn't need to be more than 30a.
