Default Ez go marathon

I have replaced the sweeper arm, switchboard and contacts, the resistor board and all the wiring. Everything works but the pedal gets stuck, not just on the floor but all positions. Any ideas?

Your wiper contact must have new sharp edges that are hanging up on the new edges of the fixed contacts. You can take a fine file to the very edges of the wiper contact and make a VERY slight taper all the way around so that the edges do not bind. It is much easier to do it to the one movable contact than to try to do it to all of the fixed contacts. Remove very little material, you don't want to greatly impact your contact surface area.

When I was running resistor carts, I used the contact board to activate solenoids that carried the current to the resistors in order to extend the life of the speed control components.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try that. I figured it must be something like that. The cart does have a solenoid. Thanks

Awesome. Some kludging on those can go a long way, until you are sick of that and drop some bucks to modernize. When you do, you will wonder how you put up with that so long, better range would be in the future, and parts that aren't constantly trying to burn each other up. Especially if you plan on speed or offroad upgrades. The bug always bites, and the stock resistor system can't handle anything heavier than stock golf use for long.

I'm learning that. Any idea why the resistor continues to get so hot it actually catches on fire? It happened again today and its always on the wire and connection on the resistor that is closest to the engine.
