Default 36 volt Ezgo. I need some help!!

I have a 96 Ezgo dcs 36 volt. It is in great shape and usually runs great. I only use the cart for golfing. Today, while playing we just finished a hole. When I got on the cart it would not move. When I would feather the gas feed or tap it, it would try to go but just sat there. After 5 min or so it took off like it was new. Then did the same thing a while later. This time we gave it about a 20 yard push and it took off again. The batteries were full charged when this happened.

Thanks for the help!!!

Look for a loose connection

I know you said the batteries were fully charged but, if it were me, I'd put a mm on them and get an accurate voltage. You should probably do it for each battery too, and test them under load. Post your results to the hundredth. I.e.: 6.xx. You could have a loose wire, but it also sounds like you could have a bad pack or at least one battery that is failing under load.

Didn't see that you said it took off fine after the initial problem. Still, it only takes a bit to test the batteries and always seems like a good starting point.

Good luck.

like the others suggested, it sounds like a loose connection OR a corroded connection. Without a doubt, intermittent electrical issues are the hardest to deal with.....so do as suggested and check the voltage of each battery.....then start, one at a time, remove each cable connection and clean it and reinstall it. and it certainly wouldn't hurt to put a little protectant on them.

Mine did, BUT it was inside the "engine compartment" under the seat. so wasn't subject tp water....however it still could have some dirt or corrosion in the plug.

Need to take a look at the sonic weld where the 4 wires come together just before the forward switch. Have to do a little wire cutting to get to it.

Ok. I've cleaned and checked every connection I can find on the cart. I really didn't think that was it. But, I figured I'd give it a shot. When I push the gas feed, it starts bumping forward really easy. Then, it might sit there for a minute or so then take off about half speed and go to full speed. Full speed is about 22mph. I think I'm losing a motor.
