Default 12 volt hookup on 48 volt cart

Hope I don't get on someone's nerves asking all these questions I just found the site today and I have many issues that's over my head.the 2000 ezgo had a extra battery for 12 volt radio- lights I
added horn- blinkers- strobe & brake lights I can't figure out. I got rid of the battery and hooked all this 12 volt stuff to the 2 post that makes about 17 volts. Bad idea?

Well, I don't think it was a good idea. From the factory ezgo powered the 12v fuse block in my 2001 using the rear middle battery and the rear passenger battery. I'm not sure which batteries you're using to get 17v but you should find another way. Even doing it the way ezgo did is not good for the health of the pack. Drawing down 2 batteries unequally shortens the life of the others. You can get a reducer that runs off of the whole pack, or put the 12v battery back in. It seems to be pretty split on which of those options is preferred. I have a reducer, as I didn't want to have to keep a separate battery charged.
