Default No battery hold down tabs

I'm upgrading my cart and adding new batteries and it didn't have the battery hold down on it. I was just going to order the hold down kit but when I pulled the batteries I saw the are no tabs with holes on the battery tray. Looks like someone replaced part of the tray with angle iron and didn't put the hold down tabs on. Is there anyway to secure the batteries in place without having to have new tabs welded onto the battery tray? Thanks in advance.

Check the length of your rod (not that one!)
Place a battery in the tray and a hold-down on top of it and gauge the rod to see if there enough length to drill a hole in the frame you have to utilize the hold down rod etc.

Lol!!! I was wondering if I could drill holes in the battery tray frame. I didn't want to weaken it because of all the battery weight. Are you talking about the vertical or horizontal part of the angle iron? If you are talking about the vertical part I could always get a threaded rod and cut it to the length I need to run it straight down.
