Default What is This Electrical Thing???

What is this device? It was tied into the 0 volt negative side for my headlight circuit.

Don't really know but it may be a flasher unit for the turns signals.

Got it figured. 16v to 12v reducer. Don't know if it's the culprit for no headlights, but if I jump it the lights work.

The lights work when you jump it because you have a faulty reducer. Running the lights on 16v will burn them out very fast though.

Replacing the voltage reducer would be your best idea.

replace with a real 48 to 12 volt reducer . 16 to 12 volt reducers dont do any favors for your batteries
