Awesome Help for Dead Marathon
Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to this forum as a whole. My friend recently picked up a 1989 Ezgo Marathon Resistor cart and decided to have it painted. When it came back from paint, it wouldn't run at all. He figured they ran the batteries dead.
After charging it overnight, he found the cart was still dead. No click, no nothing. His first instinct was to replace the solenoid to no avail. After searching around through y'alls posts and digging up some schematics on here, we found out how to trace out the activation circuit and determined the microswitch at the accelerator linkage was bad. The schematics showed one of the microswitches inside the F-N-R bundle was only for the backup buzzer, which wasn't working any way. We pulled that switch and replaced the one by the accelerator linkage and BOOM, working cart! Thanks again for being such a valuable source of information! |
