Default RXV Kill Switch at Solenoid

Wondering if its safe to run a momentary switch between one of the small wires on the solenoid? Which one, sorry I have done some searching but want to be expressly clear on this. I wire and install networks so I have a understanding of low voltage and have thanx to this site and all the great posts (People) have re learned some DC principles.

"Momentary" ?? that term usually describes a switch requiring "physical pressure" to remain actuated...

Don't think that is what you are after..

For a " kill or anti theft" switch, simply add a "toggle" (SPST) in the "positive" feed to the solenoid... place the switch in an inconspicuous place, and you are good to go, or not go......

Ha! your right I didn't watch my terms....I was looking at momentary switches for a horn. But yea just wondering if I could kill the pos. side of the solenoid without issue.

It will cause a powerup self test error, Open Main Coil, which will disable the cart. It will rack up error codes in the short term and permanent error log. You'll be better off putting the kill switch in the circuit that sends power to the key switch. That is a smaller red wire on the main battery pack + connection. It runs to a fuse under the cover that the Run/Tow switch is in... The Run/Tow switch is a good kill switch, or you can just remove the 9 pin Run Plug from the 9 pin connector under the cupholder. The cart cannot operate without it.

Thanx very much... that is what I was really looking for. A place to interrupt a circuit that would not affect anything else.

Could I put a switch in between one of those wires that are jumped on the 9 pin plug?

On an RXV you can put a switch on the blue wire coming from the back of the charge receptacle. That is the charger interrupt and if you break power on that wire the cart ain't going nowhere. That blue wire has to be live for the cart to run. Charger plugged in = 0 voltage on the blue. It would be the easiest place on the cart to install such a switch.
