Default Battery replacement recommendations

Ok, so going to be replacing batteries on my 2009 txt pds 42v with xct400 and d&d es-52 motor, to be used on street in Florida, no hills. I’ve gotten quotes and info from the local shops and came up with these options in north Florida:

Trojan T-105- $700 plus tax
Crown 220- $702 out the door
Crown 260- $1039 out the door
Deka gc10- $583 plus tax

Will be charged with dpi charger.

Looking for longevity, range and value. What are your thoughts on the batts listed above? Any others I should look into?

One shop that doesn’t sell Trojans tried to sway me away from them and said that they’ve been bought out by a holding company, and quality has been diminished. Said they removed 5# of lead from the t-105’s and that’s when he stopped selling them. He sells crown and finish line batteries only. Any validity to this??

Thanks for the help!

I always prefer Trojan. I’ve never had any Trojans that haven’t lasted over 6 years with proper maintenance.

I just recently sold an EZ GO with a mid 2011 pack of T-105’s and I could never have told them from new ones as far as range and load test.

Just my experience. I have heard good things about crown but they don’t sell them around here so I haven’t seen many. Deka’s are decent too.

I'm in SW Florida and I can get a set of T-105 Trojans for $600 out the door.

Ended up getting the T-105’s and decided to replace the battery tray too. Pulled out the old and kept the body on. Wasn’t too bad, but best opportunity to get it replaced and cleaned up

I have an aluminum tray and a digital volt meter coming in Friday. Looking forward to getting these in this weekend and breaking them in.

Just reminder make sure dpi is on trojan charging profile.
Also theres a specific break in, you can search for it or someone might remind you here.
I believe you only run down the batteries to a certain SOC and recharge, takes a good 12 times like that before batteries are "broken in"

Good luck!

Don't discharge below 70% SoC for the first couple dozen charge cycles.

Put on charge after each use or every night if you make multiple short trips during the day.

70% Soc is a limit rather than a goal, so you don't have to discharge the batteries that much if you only make short trips.

Already changed the charger settings over. Researched Scotty’s break in, and was going to follow that procedure.

Thanks for the help gentlemen!
