Ezgo shocks
I have a 99 ezgo txt. I put new shocks on the front. They were a pain but I got them done. I thought the rear ones would be easier. Got the old ones off but how in the world do you get the top bushings and nut on the shocks. Do you have to remove the body. I have a rear seat on the cart.
Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Re: Ezgo shocks
Mine has a big metal box on it. It has been many years since I upgraded my shocks. Can't remember if I took the box off or found a contortionist to help with the top bushings.
Maybe take the rear wheels off and do it thru there? |

Re: Ezgo shocks
It can be done without removing the body, but it is a real pain with associated busted knuckles. Remove the body and it is an easy job.

Re: Ezgo shocks
Yes I did. Used long needle nose and got the bushing and washer on. Then used the needle nose to set the nut on top. Had wife hold them steady and I turned them from underneath with a battery drill. Only problem on the top I could use the new bushing and washer. They are just too big around so I used the best old ones. Once I figured out how to do it. It only took about 20 minutes. I put on the bottom bushing and nuts the night before. I had to drop the axle to get them in. Wasn't terrible job just hard on the hands and arms

Re: Ezgo shocks
Mine was really easy. I paid my nephew mechanic to do 'em. I never busted a knuckle.....but much swearing was heard from my garage when he was there.

Re: Ezgo shocks
It was long ago but that was probably the case when I changed mine. Followed by a few cold Stags immediately afterward.
