Key and tumbler
Can a ATV key and tumbler be iced in my 2014 electric club car precedent. I want to get rid of the common key. I think this would be more water resistant than any automotive ignition.

Re: Key and tumbler
Yes but the ignition in the Precedent is a 2 wire set up.

Re: Key and tumbler
Why not just order an uncommon key switch for a Club Car? They fit without modification.

Re: Key and tumbler
Yeah I see your point. While it's never truly "uncommon", Club Car actually offers 12 different ones. The problem is that the online vendors typically only order 1 of them. The key code can be viewed on the key. It'll be a number and a letter. Possible combinations range from 1A - 2F. If you order it from eBay or Amazon you'll probably get the same one every time. When I order uncommon switches from Club Car for our inventory, I typically like to keep one of each on hand. No it's not truly "uncommon", but the chances of someone having the correct key is a whole lot less likely than that of a regular Club Car key. In the reality of it all, if someone wants to steal your cart, all they have to do is reach behind the dash and pull the wires off of the key switch and hook them together. You're never gonna stop a thief with a key switch of any kind on an electric golf cart.

Re: Key and tumbler
Something like this mounted under the seat to isolate the batteries would be a good deterent but as TahoeDawgZ71 said, anyone with tools, time and inclination will beat anything you want to install.

Re: Key and tumbler
I like that yawood. Not so much for theft protection, but for safety should there be a real "messup" when the batteries need to be unhooked quickly.

Re: Key and tumbler
a simple hidden toggle on the key switch wire would be much simpler ….. and smaller....and cheaper....

Re: Key and tumbler
I've used this motorcycle barrel key for years. 48v EZGO in this case but shouldn't make any difference.
