Voltage change
I've read a little here and there about motors that will do both 36 and 48 volt? Is there any reality to this? If so what about on a '04 TXT?

Re: Voltage change
Yes you can run a 36v motor on 48v. You will have to upgrade the controller, solenoid and charger to do this.

Re: Voltage change
my 96 txt will do about 31mph at 48v and torque you wouldn't believe, but in the near future I'll probably upgrade the motor

Re: Voltage change
For the most part you will gain 33% more torque and speed running the 36v motor on 48v. Upgrades to the amperage delivery system are required.

Re: Voltage change
Other than the parts previously listed I would assume a wire upgrade would be in order as well?

Re: Voltage change
when you say wires......if you are talking HIGH CURRENT CABLES.....(the ones on the batteries, from the controller to the f&r and motor) then YES.....all the others "wires" are fine.

Re: Voltage change
Thank you for the help. I was able to purchase a 48 volt club car from Bowslayer. This precludes my need to upgrade in that part. Now for the other fun stuff . . .
