Default Re: Need some quick answers about an RXV

Just an FYI for the thread. I run my 2008 RXV without a brake. I like how the cart rolls a little and I actually jump off as it slowly rolls to a stop. My backyard is flat so I do not have to worry about it rolling away. Also, when I turn my key the cart does not lurch forward at all, it just sits there until press the pedal. I am running Duralast batteries and a new used motor off ebay. My EZGo guys in Michigan charged me $85. Then said" you need a new brake, motor, batteries and controller" Then after they realized I was not going to spend that much they said," You can leave it here if you want...I'll give you $100"
Lol. I bought a used motor off ebay for $450 and new batteries at Sams club for $400 and I have been fine for 9 months and this cart screams with speed and charge longevity!!!!

Dont follow this guys advice, its VERY DANGEROUS!!! You are gonna hurt yourself or someone else eventually if you do this. The cart now has Nothing at all to stop it if the controller goes into shutdown for any reason (like dead or bad batteries). This is a crazy idea, dont do it. I hope your shoes have very thick soles, cause you are gonna need them when you are doing some "fred flinstone" braking.

Very dangerous.

any controller shutdown-- NO BRAKES.

When parking-- NO BRAKES.

Parking/emergency brake is about than $300.00 installed.

Driving a vehicle with safety device disabled opens you up to lawsuit (negligence)
if anyone is hurt.

PLEASE REPLACE BRAKE!!!!

You can trick them. Some software versions trick easier than others.
It's one thing to trick cart to get home, quite another to operate it regularly
w/o a critical safety system.

Update- the problem was the encoder bearing. Cart now runs 25 mph. I bought this cart to flip, but decided to pass the deal on to my Dad, that was about to restore his 1997 TXT. In exchange he gave me his old cart to sell, and he'll have a lot newer cart.

Great news !!!!

Thanks for "Closing the Loop" It helps us help others.

You might get dealer to slow the cart down.

A lifted RXV running 25mph can flip.
