Thanks. I know there are commercially available products out there. They start at about $60 and hit over $500! If I can't find a 48 volt seat occupancy sensor, I'm right back where I started. How do I trigger it?

Bet he is using nothing more complex than a normally open single pole single throw momentary contact switch.... Think of the old hood pin switches that would have been installed on car alarms, and installed on every riding garden tractor today for the last couple of decades....

Wired in series with the Run/Tow switch....

I don't know, I'm not quite seeing it. What goes between my...ahem...posterior and the button? It looks like you drill a hole in the platform and bolt it with the button towards the foam, right? Will my skinny...um backside feel the button?

I do not need 12v constant for the radio. It is a Jensen MS30BT that absolutely requires a switched 12v. As far as safety, kids, pets, etc., think of how carts are used in their primary intended purpose; golf! We get in and out of the seat for 5-10 minutes at a time and never turn off the key. I'm not saying I want the radio playing while I'm on the course but this is exactly how I will be using it.

I know for sure that with some combination of capacitor, potentiometer and low milliamp draw relay (or two in series) can get me several minutes of standby power. The problem is how to trigger it automatically as I drive.
LOL, I did not think you were describing a game of golf from your first post.

Also, since your radio does not require (and if fact should not use) constant power, I agree You can use simpler solutions, where is your converter physically installed?

Edit: saw your comment about feeling the seat switch, the switch mrgolf is using has a flat wide profile button, not the plunger type.
