Ezgo Controller identification
Good Afternoon, I'm looking to upgrade the controller of my ezgo 36v. I think it's a TXT Series cart?. I will include a picture of the current controller that is overheating. This controller has 4 large buss. Most of controllers I have seen have 3 big posts only or 3 large buss with 2 smaller ones. I would like to upgrade to an alltrax 400 if posible. This goes to a 73445g01 Motor. The correct part number or model to order would be appreciated. The cart has been lifted and wires replaced to 4ga. All done by me, this is my first cart, I'm total noob.
Thank you |

It is a series controller. The extra terminal is the A2 terminal, which is the plug brake. The three terminal Alltrax will work. You basically just take the two cables that were connected to the A2 terminal and just bolt them together, or just run a new A2 cable from the motor to the forward and reverse switch.

Re: Ezgo Controller identification
piece of cake....what you have is a SERIES drive system (based on the motor part number you gave us), and although you have upgraded the high current cables (hopefully all 13 of them....even the battery cables), to correctly upgrade your delivery system you will need/should replace the solenoid with a stronger then stock one AND upgrade the F&R switch to a HD one. the controller you need/want would be the SR-48400
the best deal around that will get you everything you need would be from cartsunlimited.net which happens to be one of our major sponsors. The have kits that have the controller/solenoid packaged together, and the F&R switch is separate. here are two links to the two pages of their site. You would be looking at #5 Pkg 484, or #6 Pkg 484B Controller Kit: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/series-controllers.html The F&R Switch is here: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/f---r--switches.html |

Thank you very much gentlemen, I will be ordering the upgrades this week. Will this motor handle the increased amperage?

Re: Ezgo Controller identification
Yes the series motor (Ezgo 2.5hp ) can run on a 500a control. If going off the road with bigger tires I recommend the new Alltrax SR48500 control and 400 super duty MZJ type solenoid.
Want more power? Drop in an extra 6v battery or 6/8v for forty two or eight volt power. |
