Question Motor Bearing/Brushes?

Ok guys and gals,

I am in the process of doing routine maintenance on my 1996 36v TXT Series cart.

I have a whine when going certain speeds, and after checking the oil in the rear end (dark and needs changing, but there is enough) I would like to change the bearing in the motor, and the bearings on the input shaft.

The only problem being, the motor companies online all want to sell you their upgraded motors. Does no one perform the bearing/brush maintenance on these motors?

I would assume this would just be a $20 or so bearing?

I would find a motor repair shop to do the work. Replacing the bearing is fairly straight forward to do your self but cleaning up the armature requires special tools that motor shops have.

If you are pulling out a good running motor the need for it to go to a shop is not required. Like stated, bearing removal and brush replacement is straight forward. Cleaning up of the commutator is simplistic also with a simple clean up with an emory cloth.

Any one in particular? Just called my local electric motor shop and they don't do GC motors.
