Default Charging Issue 99 DS

I have a 1999 DS used it last weekend , put it on the charger last night and this morning it was still at 5 amp . left on the charger and when i got home from work it was still at 5 amp . turned off charger and check water levels in battery. water level fine . Could I have a bad battery or could I have drained the batters to the point of needing this kind of charge. battery are a few years old and its a 48v cart. Im new to this . Thanks in advance Kevin

For severely discharged batteries, the charger may take up to 16 hours to charge a pack fully. The charger will (should) turn itself off after 16 hours.
If the charger continues to run past 16 hours, you need to start diagnosing your system to see what is causing it.

If that doesn't work, reset the OBC. Then put it on charge again. If it still runs an unusually long time, get a volt meter at the pack and see where your voltage is. Should be 61-63 volts, if not, let it continue to charge as it is doing what it is supposed to. If it gets to 63.5 volts and has not cut off then you may have an OBC issue or a problem in the charger.

Thanks to all for the advice, used the cart this weekend and started off at 54 volts. I have just plugged in and will time the mount to see if it shuts down itself. If it runs over the 16hrs , ill start digging deeper.
