Default 08' Precedent Excel Controller Mod Problems

I recently bought an 08' Precedent (PH0814-891134). I had a guy from a local cart shop come buy to upgrade the speed from 3 to 4, however when he called Club Car to get the code, they were unable to give him one. Both the guy at my house and he Club Car guy on the phone seemed baffled that they couldn't provide the code. Anyone else ever have this issue? Maybe it's a bogus serial number?

Also, the local tech had to plug his programmer directly into the controller under the seat, as the connector under the dash didn't seam to work. Any ideas for troubleshooting this?

Lastly, I asked him about turning off regen braking, but he didn't know which setting that was on the programmer, anyone know what it's called? He did turn the "fast acceleration" from off to on.

Any other settings I should change?

Scott

Tahoedawg71 (David Hicks) will hopefully see this and provide you an answer if someone else does not have it before hand.

Just bringing this one back to the top so Tahoedawg, or anyone else familiar with modifying the controller, might see it.

This is strange for a few reasons. It's very strange because they can't order a code for the controller. The location of the serial number is strange as well. I'm thinking this cart may be a prototype. Let me explain...

The PH in your serial number indicates that it's an Excel cart. The issue here is the location of the serial number. The serial number was inside the dash like yours on the Gen 1 Precedents. When the i2 body style came out, the Excel system was introduced and the serial number sticker was moved to another location, below the cup holder on the passenger side of the cart. Excel was never an option on a Gen1 Precedent. I think you have a prototype. Because of this, you may have a prototype controller that wasn't programmable. Is it possible for you to get the model number of the controller and let me know what it is?

^^That would be a pretty cool car to have.
I'd throw and AllTrax in there and cruise in my "prototype"

Where would I find the model # of the controller? Like a sticker on it, or through the programmer?

Also, I'm out of town for work this week, but did have this pic on my phone, is the controller the box in the background? I'm assuming you can't tell anything from this pic, but thought I'd share it...

There's a sticker on the controller. Take another picture of that whole controller area. Maybe it's just me, but something looks different. Or maybe it's the angle of the picture. Take a picture further away so I can zoom in on the stuff I want to see.
