Default 02 Club Car spark issues

So this issue is ongoing but I've come across something I can't explain. When I push the pedal to start the cart spins over but wont run. If I pull the spark plug wire and check for spark by grounding, I see great spark, reinstall the wire and it runs great. If it sits for any length of time (hour or more) I have to go through the process again and it works every time!! So by removing the wire, grounding it and depressing the pedal to see spark, and reinstalling the wire it works every time. ANY CLUES?

I would try a different plug.

Sometimes a plug will separate on the inside, un hooking and re hooking the wire will cause them to ark together for a shot time. Just try another plug of the same type to check to see if that could be the problem.

In the old days you could hold the plug wire about a 1/4 inch from the end of the plug while the engine was running to locate a weak firing plug that was giving a slight misfire.
