Yesterdays morning catch from my shed... just found out you cant touch the trap with your hands , they smell you . guy at home depot told about it. catching alot more now that i wear gloves when ever i bait the trap . . .this is a standard So-Cal high desert kangaroo rat .of course i have the little guys in the motor-home . . but they love glue traps with peanut butter and green poison blocks

Peppermint oil repels almost everything and smells nice. About $100 for a gallon but it only takes a drop or two in strategic places.

In your barn a redneck mouse trap is effective and safe. Google it for how to make one. A bucket with about 3" of water, plastic soda bottle, coat hanger, and a little peanut butter.

I think what you got there is actually a variety of woodrat. They are rampant here.

Now i got a better knowledge of what to bait the traps with . They love yucca and cactus but my whole place is yucca and cactus , but if they insist on living in my shed , hopefully they will not want to go outside to Dine
