Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
my 97 36V had one on it also..I asked the same question about 8 months ago and there were several ideas then. I believe its a form of resistor to help alleviate the arcing going on in the solenoid everytime it opens and closes. I upgraded and installed new wires and solenoid, and removed that thing..and have not had a problem at all. If you are going to install or already have a controller in your cart...you WILL want to install a proper resistor across those 2 large solenoid terminals...the volotage spike/arcing when solenoid closing will help burn up a controller...the resistor acts as a small voltage leak across the solenoid to keep the controller precharged and ready to go. hope this helped

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Are you sure it's not the reverse buzzer? I looked at a wiring diagram and it looked like it came off the solenoid.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Oxfordlawn is correct. It is, in fact, called a Snubber by Club Car and it is a factory part (part number 102047201). It was used to help prevent damage to the solenoid from voltage arcing. I looked it up when I upgraded my cart a few years ago and couldn't figure out what it was or what it did.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Knedder is correct. It is a Snubber. I am surprised the I do not see a diode on the small posts of the solenoid though??
