Smile wiring question

Working on the '05 precedent, and I have a question regarding the wiring.

At the 12 pin connector behind the dash there is a 12 pin connector. In that connector is a black wire that runs back to the OBC and is terminated along with 2 other black wires, one of which goes to the last battery negative.

Also at the 12 pin connector is an orange wire. And I cannot figure out where it goes. Problem is, I get continuity between the black wire and the orange wire. I have the black wire disconnected at the OBC. The 12 pin connector is disconnected under the dash, both the rear tail/stop lights are disconnected. One side of the ohm meter is connected to the black wire that is disconnected at the OBC and the other side is connected to the black wire at the 12 pin connector, and I get continuity - which I should. BUT I also get continuity to the orange wire.

All the wiring diagrams show the 12 pin connector, but the only show the balck wire, nothing else.

Help please - thanks. Dave

Jeez, I think I confused myself.

Let's cut to the chase: does anybody know what the orange wire, located behind the dash, and feeds the new lighting harness, is for?

Thanks, Dave

I have looked at 2 diagrams and the solid orange wire behind the dash looks like it goes to the reverse buzzer.

Does the reverse buzzer work now ?
Is there a orange wire on the Buzzer now ?

gmorrison

Yep, the buzzer works. There is an orange/white wire on the buzzer.

On your wiring diagram does it show any wires on the 12 pin connector. The diagram I have shows the 12 pin, but only shows a black wire on it, with the other 11 pins as just dots.

Thanks, Dave

Print it out at Kinkos are you office printer. Found it free online courtesy of East Coast Carts website. Have not found the service manual for free though. $50 online for that.
